The Black Horse, Climping

The Black Horse is a Grade-II listed property dating back to the 17th Century when it was a smugglers inn. Now owned by Historic Sussex Hotels, the pub has gone through an extensive renovation and we've installed a fabulous pewter bar (the longest pewter bar in Sussex?), created a stunning oak frame extension, filled with light and height overlooking the fields called The Ryebank.

Wellies and wine, a post beach-walk beer, second breakfast or a clymping night out – we invite everyone, including families and dogs, to come and enjoy the warmth and buzz of The Black Horse.

The Black Horse has always been a popular haunt for locals to gather, a well-loved and welcoming place for the community, families and visitors to the area and it's time to re-ignite this tradition.
