Description
Arundel Church of England Primary School is a mixed-entry Voluntary Aided primary school offering a distinctly Christian education for children from the ages of 4 to 11. Our core values as a school are based around 1 Corinthians 13:13 ‘And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love’.
At our school, we provide a stimulating learning environment for all children within a caring, Christian ethos with strong links to St Nicholas' Church. We fully embrace the Church of England’s Vision for Education, whereby education is 'deeply Christian . . . serving the common good of the whole community’, focusing on each child ‘as a unique individual of inherent worth’. We aim for our children and members of the wider school community to flourish in all they do and to enjoy ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10). We aim to give all children a wide range of learning opportunities to help them to grow into independent, well-behaved and responsible young people who achieve the highest standards possible across the whole curriculum.
With over 100 successful years behind us, we have always kept the best of school traditions, such as reading, multiplication tables, school concerts and plays, and competitive sport. We also embrace the future with exciting projects, bringing new technology right into the classroom in order to build on our strengths in computing to enhance pupils’ learning. We believe learning should be 'joined up', so we teach through themes and real-life situations that are relevant to children. We make full use of our fantastic school grounds and rural location, including Forest School lessons, which take place on site throughout the year for each of the classes. Learning is a partnership and, through setting targets together, pupils are taught to recognise and work towards their individual next steps in learning,
In addition to the main school day, from the age of four we offer wraparound day care from 7.30am to 6.00pm through Embrace, our thriving on-site Breakfast and After School Club.
As a school we work in partnership with our families and the wider community. We believe that we can only achieve the best for your child through close co-operation between home and school. We encourage all parents and carers to share in their child's education and we are always pleased to talk with you about any aspect of your child's development. We hope that you will want to share with us in making this a very happy and successful period in your child's life. Do please come and look around our school.
