What is the Arundel Festival of the Arts 2024?

A wonderful, vibrant and exciting 10-day event held throughout Arundel which is better than ever for 2023 – its 46th year!

Join us from Friday 16th to Monday 26th of August for a joyful and uplifting celebration of music, art, theatre, culture, food, and drink in our historic West Sussex town. Family Fun for all ages at Arundel Festival.

Festival committee chair, Sharon Blaikie says, “Our unique, inclusive summer Festival brings together residents, community groups, local businesses, event organisers and attractions staging uplifting, accessible events for the whole community to enjoy. We’re thrilled to be coordinating a programme of events throughout the town, working with partners and associates to offer a huge range of entertainment and activities across the whole range of the arts”

What can you enjoy at the 2024 Arundel Festival of the Arts?

Arundel Festival is heaven for lovers of the arts, with every style and genre of music, art, theatre, culture, food, and drink for you to enjoy. 

There really is so much to see and do –

The Opening Flag raising ceremony takes place on Saturday 17th August when there will be street entertainment with lots of singing, dancing, markets and fashion shows.

The Arundel Gallery Trail is a regular favourite and Words Music and Wine is back as is a wonderful selection of theatre and drama throughout the town.

Another favourite is the Duck Race which has to be seen to be believed when some 2000 little yellow ducks ‘jump’ off the bridge into the River Arun!

There’s even an It’s a Knockout UK Challenge so get a team together and give it a go! It will be a fun filled whirlwind of an event with wacky challenges and lots of water involved so get a team together and go for it!

A new event this year is Out of the Deep Blue which features a 13 foot sea giant puppet! You literally won’t be able to miss that! And why not go to the open air cinema?

ABBAMAGIC! Is back on the Arundel High Street and this will make you a Dancing Queen for the night!

There is a spectacular amount of street entertainment across the whole of Arundel, providing a fun filled festival for all the family. For full details just click on Arundel Festival.

The Sporting Bears Motor Club are bringing their classic, sports and performance cars to the High Street and they will take you for a ride in the car of your choice. There are some absolutely fabulous ones to choose from! Which will take your fancy?

With family fun at Arundel Lido, Arundel Wetland Centre and Arundel Museum – check out their Children’s Trail, there is just so much going on all around the town every single day. You will be spoilt for choice – but that’s the idea! and all this is just some of what’s going on!

Is there going to be a Music Festival?…oh yes!!!

This year a Music Festival is also taking place in JULY so if you love Murdoch’s Crazy Eyes – and who doesn’t? They are head lining on Friday 16th July.

On Saturday the 20th July the theme is Country, Americana and Folk music. So, dust off your Stetson, pull on your cowboy boots and enjoy an afternoon and evening of all things’ country! On Sunday 21st the afternoon is all about Jazz.

Local suppliers will be offering a range of food and drink to keep you singing, dancing, and smiling!!

When does it all start?

The Festival gets underway with the opening Flag Raising Ceremony in Arundel High Street on Friday 19th August when the town will buzz with street entertainment, cafe culture, musical performances, and family friendly fun for the whole community to enjoy and be part of.
